Coat Hook Final 3D Model

 

Here is the 3D model for my coat hook design

My plan is to spray paint it pink and then use a brush with a darker pink on the top line, and a brush with a lighter pink for the bottom line for realism. 

I originally wanted to add texture to the top to help with grip for hanging things on it, but I couldn't figure out how within the time I allotted myself for this project. I feel with more time and more knowledge I could have made this much more realistic, and maybe with more curves for realism. For example, I was trying to make the sides a little bit more rough to simulate a real tongue (not perfectly flat and smooth) but couldn't do so in a way that looked natural. I feel for a first attempt at 3D modelling a tongue, I did alright.

I was too focused in the moment to capture screenshots of my process, but it was a lot of experimentation with the taper and bend tool. Those commands can get really weird really fast.
